Chris Addison of Addison/Ripley Fine Arts Talk, February 4, 2024

Chris Addison, co-owner of Addison Ripley Fine Art in Georgetown, spoke to a full house at the Jackson Art Center on Sunday, February 4.  He talked about how and why Washington DC has changed from being a vibrant art gallery scene to today’s much more modest scenario.   He pointed out the more dynamic players  in the field, like the Katzen and Transformer, but pointed out it that there is a need for a more coordinated city-wide effort to boost the private sector arts in Washington DC. There were many questions from the audience, from the relevance of NFTs to the lack of studio space in DC.
